Spanning over 70 successful years, we are proud of our ever-expanding portfolio of projects covering tank and bridge engineering and construction, terminal expansions, infrastructure remediation, technical EPCM services and industrial electrical/process automation solutions.We are seeking an experienced and safety focused Quality Co-Ordinator with proven experience in welding supervision and a thorough working knowledge of Australian Standards and quality systems to join our multidisciplinary Darwin team. This is a full-time project-based role for a fixed term of 12 months, supporting the delivery of a critical infrastructure construction project, with a key focus on one team, one aim - zero harm.The Project Quality Co-Ordinator plays a pivotal strategic role in fostering a strong quality culture by implementing company best practice welding procedures and quality systems. The role also fully utilises the Integrated Management System across the project to achieve continual improvement and legal compliance.Your responsibilities include:Working closely with the EPCM Project Manager & EPCM Construction Manager to establish, monitor and review quality compliance.Welding procedure generation and qualification of welders.Welding surveillance and inspections.Co-ordinating NDT to required coverage and API/ASME standards.Interface with Company Project Sub-Contractors used on the Project.Review & approval of Sub-Contractors ITPs & ITCs.Developing and managing Project required ITPs and ITC’s.Identifying systematic NCRs and develop corrective/preventative action plans.Contributing to strategic and operational aspects of workplace Health Safety and Environment within the company.Ensuring the company's standards and regulatory codes are identified and applied throughout the project.Being the knowledge authority on and managing all matters of welding and related trades with a high understanding for quality and safety.Undertaking internal audits as per schedule.Maintaining a strong relationship between site and office through regular communication.THE IDEAL CANDIDATETo be successful in the role you will have:Qualification and related experience in welding or similar trade inclusive of Cert 10 AS1796 and AS2214 or IWE equivalentQualification in quality assurance or related discipline desirableDemonstrated experience in quality strategy development and implementation.5 years or more experience in supervising welding and quality assurance in a construction environment desirableAbility to engage with and coach Saunders personnelAn innovative approach to building a strong SHEQ cultureA detailed understanding of WHS, Injury Management and Environmental legislationStrong written and oral communication skillsAbility to set own goals to ensure the SHEQ KPI’s and deliverables are metTHE BENEFITSMarket competitive remunerationExposure to resources industryFlexible working arrangements negotiable with project requirementsSupportive workplace cultureYears of service recognition and rewardsSaunders embraces the values of an innovative and diverse workforce and recognises that inclusion sets everyone up for success.
