Spanning over 70 successful years, we are proud of our ever-expanding portfolio of projects covering tank and bridge engineering and construction, terminal expansions, infrastructure remediation, technical EPCM services and industrial electrical/process automation solutions.Saunders’ growth strategy and awarded project portfolio means we have an exciting opportunity for a Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Advisor to augment our head office team in Rhodes. The ideal candidate must have with thorough working knowledge of Australian standards and proven experience in contributing to the development, implementation and maintenance of HSE Management Systems, incident investigations, injury management systems, auditing, and training of employees. Fundamental to the role is the ability to build and sustain a positive safety culture across a diverse workforce that ensures the project is delivered safely and effectively. Your responsibilities include:Assisting the HSE Manager in managing workplace health and safety, including providing timely and relevant advice on safety related matters across various projects.Assisting the HSE Manager in the preparation, implementation and maintenance of systems, plans, procedures and strategies.Reviewing and developing work SWMS.Developing and delivering Inductions, Toolbox’s and pre-starts, where required.Conducting daily, weekly, monthly site inspections according to company policy.Reviewing and managing sub-contractor documentation and site activities.Assisting in rehabilitation and return to work of injured or ill employees.Leading ICAMs - investigations of incidents & near misses.Delivering HSE training to site personnel.Ensuring HSE registers are up-to-date and reports submitted on time.To be successful in the role you will have:Tertiary qualification in Health, Safety or Environment or related disciplineCertificate IV Training & Assessment is desired.5+ years or more experience in managing health, safety and / or environment in a construction environment.Australian Working rights.Ability to engage with and coach Saunders personnel.An innovative approach to building a strong HSE culture.A detailed understanding of WHS, Injury Management and Environmental legislation.Strong written and oral communication skills.Ability to set own goals to ensure the HSE KPI’s and deliverables are met.Strong computer skills – particularly MS Office Suite.Desirable:Familiarisation of FSC safety requirements.THE BENEFITSMarket competitive remunerationFlexible working arrangements negotiable with project requirementsCost of Living DiscountsWellbeing Leave DaysPaid Parental LeaveSupportive workplace cultureSaunders embraces the values of an innovative and diverse workforce and recognises that inclusion sets everyone up for success.
