We have an extensive portfolio of projects, delivering large and complex solutions, including terminal expansions, engineering procurement, tank and bridge construction and remediation projects.This is an exciting opportunity for a Cert 10 Welding Supervisor to join our Morwell, Victoria Asset Services project team for 2 short-term maintenance shutdowns. The first is in July and the second in October. Either or both dates may suit you. Asset Services specialises in critical boiler maintenance, piping and pressure welding, onsite turnkey outage maintenance and projects delivery.Whilst this role will initially be a site-based contract in Victoria, there is the potential to lead to ongoing work for the right person. We also encourage interstate candidates to apply and will provide LAHA, accommodation and travel where required.ABOUT YOUR ROLEYou will have overview of project specific welding operations and work in cooperation with the wider SHEQ team to ensure successful weld activities.As part of the Saunders International group, you will support the delivery of the project with a key focus on one team, one goal - zero harm. Undertaking verification and inspection of materials.Ensuring welding equipment is in suitable condition for welding activities and safety requirements.Ensuring weld preparations are in accordance with drawing/WPS.Preparing and updating welder qualification records, including conducting welder qualification tests when necessary.Inspect all welding related activities including weld preparations, preheat and inter pass temperatures, welding parameters are within WPS requirements, visual and dimensional inspection and completion of inspection reports.Set up and testing of Auto welders and identification of all items that need repair/servicing and/or attention. Management of repairs/servicing and updating historical records for each Auto welder.Foster a culture of inclusion, responsiveness, honesty, and accountability.The ability to direct supervise welders and co-ordinate workflow.ABOUT YOUYou will work with diverse teams and be responsible for creating a safety focused environment. To be successful in this role, you will have:Welding/Boilermaking trade qualificationExperience in Power Station Boiler RefurbishmentWelding Inspector qualifications ie IWS or WTIA Welding Inspector. AS 1796 Cert10 Supervisor qualifications are also acceptable for this roleAbility to engage with and coach Saunders personnelStrong computer skills – particularly MS Office SuiteProficient in Microsoft office suiteProficient oral and written communication skillsHold current Workcover confined space ticketAny of the following would be favourably considered:Internal Audit QualifiedExternal/Lead Assessor QualifiedNACE Painting InspectorExperience in tank building industryIt is also a site requirement that all employees are double vaccinated.
