The role will be based in Rhodes, New South Wales.THE ROLE ResponsibilitiesAssisting the HSE Manager in managing workplace health safety and environment including providing timely and relevant advice on HSE related matters across various Business Units and projects. Provide expert knowledge and advice and work in close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. Support HSE Manager in developing/implementing new HSE initiatives, concepts and assist in roll out of new programs. Develop HSE training programs, toolbox presentations and facilitate tracking training statistics. Carry serious and critical incident investigations and track incident trends to prevent recurrence. Provide HSE support for new contract bid and tender process and respond to client inquiries.  Develop HSE reports and track HSE statistics for wider circulation across the organisation.  Support HSE Manager in administration of HSE database and other electronic platforms e.g. myosh, Chemwatch et. Facilitate subcontractor HSE pre-qualification process for very high- and high-risk subcontractors. Develop new project SHEQ/HSE plans, SWMS, Emergency plans and other relevant documentation. Carryout HSE Audits & project HSE reviews and facilitate HSE Risk management processes. Facilitate injury management, worker compensation claims and return to work process (suitable duties). Support SHEQ/HSE Manager in maintaining SHEQ certifications i.e. ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO45001 & FSC etc. Promote Zero Harm and One Team culture and behaviour Safety across various BU and projects.  ABOUT YOUEssentialTertiary Qualification in Health and Safety or Environment 8+ year working experience in high risk working environment construction, oil and gas etc. HSE Auditor qualification Incident Investigation certification i.e. ICAM or TAPROOT qualified Excellent communication skills and able to communicate with senior management and external parties. Thorough experience of working with WHS and Environmental legislations and relevant standards.  Ability to develop and apply policies, procedures, and protocols at the corporate and BU level. Demonstrated experience in writing documentation, policies, and procedures. Ability of analytical thinking, problem-solving skills and working with a rapidly changing environment.  Able to travel nationally and occasionally internationally. Desirable        Experience with undertaking fit for work checks inclusive of alcohol, drugs, and fatigue assessments. Certificate IV Training and Assessor Return to work Qualification. THE BENEFITSAt Saunders, we invest in our people because we believe it makes our team stronger and better equipped to deliver on our promise and values of OneTeam, Zero Harm, Excellence, Innovation, Integrity and Respect.Market competitive remunerationExposure to resources industryFlexible working arrangements negotiable with job requirementsSupportive workplace culturePaid parental leaveWellbeing leave daysCost of Living DiscountsEmployee Assistance ProgramSaunders embraces the values of an innovative and diverse workforce and recognises that inclusion sets us all up for success. ABOUT YOU

Essential

  • Tertiary Qualification in Health and Safety or Environment
